Craig Costello/KRINK

Black Rain.

August 27, 2021
305 x 559 mm / 12 x 22 in
Acrylic / Spray

Craig Costello is the New York City-based graffiti artist behind Krink. I collaborated with him to create this painting commemorating the day the United States dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima. This horrific act of violence instantly killed more than 80,000 people and the residual radiation — in particular, the poisonous black rain that’s depicted in the painting — would go on to kill many, many more. It is a reminder and a warning that humanity must never turn to nuclear weapons ever again.
